Developers scheduled to break ground on an new $250 Million dollar Convention Center in Costa Rica

15/11/2009

The new project will contain a state-of-the-art convention center, two hotels, commercial office space and a commercial center.   Construction will begin in 2010 and be completed by 2014 or 2015.

Spanish development group “Feria de Valencia” has teamed with Costa Rican developers “Feria de Costa Rica” to build the new convention center.   Construction for the Costa Rica Commercial center was scheduled to begin in 2008 but was delayed until the global economic crises lessened its impact on the region.   Enrique Calamarde, corporate director of Feria de Valencia said to El Financiero de Costa Rica “ The project was never in question, we just had to regroup to find new investors.   We fully believe that the project’s financial projections will be just as profitable as our earlier predictions.”

The Costa Rica Commercial convention center will be housed on an area 23 hectares in size.  It will be located in Cariari Heredia.   The first part of the facility to be build will be an 11,000 square meter exposition pavilion.
